Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas announced that the Palestinian Authority has a comprehensive plan for the reconstruction of Gaza and the return of displaced residents, ahead of his upcoming visit to Moscow.

In an interview with TASS, Abbas stated that the Palestinian government, which is awaiting the opportunity to assume responsibility in Gaza, has presented a plan for the return of displaced individuals, along with a program for rebuilding the sector. This includes the resumption of operations in hospitals and schools, as well as restoring electricity and water supplies.

Abbas emphasized that large-scale reconstruction would require the retreat of Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) from Gaza and the implementation of a political solution based on international law to achieve comprehensive peace and security.

Earlier, Egypt facilitated an agreement that includes the return of the Palestinian Authority, led by the Fatah movement, to control the Rafah border crossing between Gaza and Egypt.

President Abbas also called for an international peace conference to address the final status of the Palestinian issue.

Abbas is scheduled to arrive in Russia on Monday for an official visit at the invitation of Russian President Vladimir Putin.
